Karin Kurosaki (黒崎 夏梨, Kurosaki Karin) is the cynical and sarcastic daughter of Isshin Kurosaki. Compared to her soft-spoken twin, Karin is the more authoritative of the two. She is an excellent soccer player with a kick powerful enough to hurt weak hollows. Karin's tough exterior results from her mother's death; because she could not be useful around the house like Yuzu, she resolved never to cry so that she would not burden her family with her personal troubles.

Karin is a sensible person and will not hesitate to kick her father in the head when she thinks he's acting unreasonable. She initially claims that she believes spirits do not exist, yet can see them just as well as Ichigo can. She can also sense them from great distances, which usually manifests as a headache. In spite of her attitude about spirits, Karin is willing to use her abilities to earn a little cash, such as her position as Karakura Red of Don Kanonji's Karakura Superheroes.

Actually Karin can see ghost as well as Ichigo, but at first she stated she doesn't believe in ghost and since this is a fact it makes no difference for her if they existed. But with her brother involved and the raising amount of hollows she takes the habits to use her powerful kick to hurt them and deafeat them. She is actually more spiritualy aware than Ichigo since she can sense hollow, which give her headeach everytime, from far away and tell where they are so she seems to be able to avoid them too.

In the beginning she got sick when connecting with Chad's bird which had a soul of a young boy inside. She was the first to realize that the bird was a boy who was dead and was being used by the hollow. Ichigo says that it was the first time he had seen her cry since their mother had died.
