wow you should really accpet jesus into your life
it is the best way
and there are no good reasons to prove that the bible isnt real.
You shouldnt judge these dudes for begining christian because they have an amazing voice, there savior is the Lord, and they give us Jesus Freaks somebody good to listen to without the bad lyrics.
Give Jesus a try. You'll like it a lot.
harryema (1 year ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply no way to prove the bible is real. And no, you holding down a mass produced novel at best doesn't prove contents are real. And yes. I have given Jesus a try. For 5 years. Too bad I didn't like it.
As for the band. They're good, 'cause they're good. No other reason.
tubist69 (1 year ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply who says the bible is not real?
it is!
bible is real, Jesus is real..
the HELL is real!
harryema (1 year ago) Show Hide -2 Marked as spam Reply Please. Don't make incoherent statements with obviously no thought put into them. I have many smart christian friends that I respect and look up to, and you just make Christians look bad. Stop. You are the reason why so many people think Christians are dolts.
HatredOnMe (1 year ago) Show Hide +2 Marked as spam Reply ya you have a great point

HatredOnMe (1 year ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply you are going to be sad for the rest of your life.
your heart will feel like there is something missing and yes there is.
There had been peices of evidence of the parting of the red sea.
They have pulled up wheels and carts from the bottom.
Sot there is your proof.
So if that doesnt convince you than im sorry and hopefully later (after you have matured) then you will realize that you cant live without him.
IbanezHunter (1 year ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply wow i didn't know that!

Jhaerik (1 year ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply In honesty, I'd say a rather large part of the bible actually did happen. It simply did not happen the way it was written. Thats what happens when you pass a story down vocally for hundreds of years. It soon becomes distorted to the point where it barely resembles fact. Also a large part of the bible by very well be adapted mythologies and folktales such as The Epic of Gilgamesh. Many of the moral tales told however still ring true to this day, so the bible does have it's use.
Jhaerik (1 year ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply That said there has never been a larger source of violence and death that that caused by religion. So in my honest opinion religion as a whole is a bad thing. It means well, and for societies of lower technological means, and less evolved social structures it even serves the purpose of government to an extent. Such as in a tribal or nomadic society, in which it implements a series of checks & balances to insure no one man, a chieftain for example, has absolute say.
jaim3e (1 year ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply Well, there's your problem.
Religion is man's attempt at reaching God; Christianity is God's ability to reach man. So there are fundamental issues with "religion". And you're right, religion as a whole has produced less than desirable results on many levels, especially when you start getting into the more radical faiths.
However, as far as Christianty is concerned:
Stories from the Bible were recorded as they happened. Believe it or not, people could read and write 2000+ years ago :]...
jaim3e (1 year ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply ...And as far as the, ahem, "moral tales", have you ever read any of them? The Bible is much more than little children sitting in Jesus' lap and a story with a happy ending. I think C.S. Lewis puts it best in "More Than a Carpenter": "Either Jesus was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something
jaim3e (1 year ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But don't make up any patronizing nonsense about His being just a great human teacher."
I suggest you read "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel. If nothing else, you will be well enough informed to argue your point.
jaim3e (1 year ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply And 12 Stones is basically amazing :]
One of my favorite songs
"...And I know I need you in my life..."
Jhaerik (1 year ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply Sorry "moral tales" was a really bad way of phrasing that. What I intended was more along the lines of "Many of the morals contained within the bible", I was just in a bit of a rush, and at the end of my character count. I intended to refer to the aforementioned morals as something quite a bit more involved that it likely appeared. Also the accounts in the bible were "not entirely", but often 2nd hand accountings, and also subject to personal views. Now pass that down though various...
Jhaerik (1 year ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply translations, and some rather selective editing by the church itself, and you get the modern bible. I was speaking of the old testament primarily when I wrote, "Thats what happens when you pass a story down vocally for hundreds of years." In general I don't have a problem with Christianity as a whole, though I myself am a long-time atheist. As to who is correct, I'll get back to you in "hopefully" 50 or 60 years. :P Until then no one really knows, and we are free to believe as we wish.
jaim3e (1 year ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply :] I understand what you're saying, but I think the Bible should be taken word for word the way it's written. Not necessarily in the literal sense (obviously a lot of the text is symbolic), however I believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, because it says so. I guess my point is that it's all or nothing. If I don't believe the entire Word to be accurate, how can I have confidence in any of it? To be continued...
I really don't like these character count limits...
jaim3e (1 year ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply Also, historians are basically in agreement that Biblical records correlate with other historical documents. I hope I don't sound too pushy :] I really enjoy being able to have a *civil* theological debate.
jaim3e (1 year ago) Show Hide +1 Marked as spam Reply And you're right, eventually we'll know who was correct :]. But as far as I'm concerned, it would be better for me to be wrong than you... I really suggest reading Lee Strobel, as you claim to be an atheist. It's always a good idea to know the opposition's views better than they do, if for no other reason than to prove them wrong. You have challenged me to support my views, and for that Ithank you :]
jaim3e (1 year ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply One other thing that I forgot :]
You're definitely right that there is discrimination in the translation process. That's why I have several translations to compare, and one in the original Greek. I myself haven't studied Greek extensively, but my "mentor" (for lack of a better, less cliche word LOL) has and frequently helps me out.
IbanezHunter (1 year ago) Show Hide +6 Marked as spam Reply OKAY! I'm going to settle this once and for all!
There is no proof that God is real, and there never will be any real proof, it says so in the bible, thats why its called FAITH. I know this, sure I have my doubts every now and then, but believing in God makes me feel like I'm not alone in this world, and to be honest the teachings of Christianity has helped me have a better life.
I'd rather live for him and be wrong, then not live for him at all
mrthemike (1 year ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply Be a good person for yourself, not for something else.
darkdecember (1 year ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply um people can u take your historic crap somewhere besides a music video that doesn't nearly at all relate to christianity or history
Jhaerik (1 year ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply Actually, the bible never stated he parted the Red Sea. He parted the "Yam Suph(Suf)", which is Hebrew for Reed Sea. Also, "Yam" is simply a large body of water. A lake would also be referred to thusly. This by the way is a shining example of the inaccuracy of translating ancient text. For that matter translation in general. Any translation suffers from lost/alternate meaning.
KathrynLJordan07 (1 year ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply if it was just a bowl then that would be even more of a miracle because the who Egyptian army was killed in only a bowl?? Ans there is historical proof even from secular source saying that the Egyptian army was drowned!
Jhaerik (1 year ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply Who said bowl?
scndirshtwn (1 year ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply well i guess it was even more of a miracle that God could drown an entire army in a little lake, eh?
Jhaerik (1 year ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply Actually, drowning an entire army in a lake isn't saying very much. Water 12-20 feet deep, and less than a mile across would be enough to drown tens of thousands of people. Also you could drown the combined armies of the modern world in even smallest of the great lakes. The word lake itself is a very (ironically)fluid word, and simply describes a body of fresh, or salt water that is surrounded by land. It can also be referred to as an inland sea.
Jhaerik (1 year ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply See how much trouble we have communicating now? Imagine this same situation spanning thousands of years. The meaning of words change, even just within the minds of different people. When you thought "lake", you were most likely imagining something the size of a fishing pond. However what I was describing was something far larger. Something as simple as the Bowl/Body misunderstanding could have vastly altered a meaning. That is why translation is, and always will be highly inaccurate.
electromagnetic08 (1 year ago) Show Hide -6 Marked as spam Reply WAKE UP!!!! There is no God!! The Egyptians used to believe that the stars were gods passing overhead in their candle-lit boats! Human need to believe in some great order to things, the unknown and just plain fear is what keeps people believing in God. Sorry
drpeppergrl337 (1 year ago) Show Hide +1 Marked as spam Reply uhh...sorry but God is very real! I know because he has done many miracles in my life! Things that couldnt be anything else but God my Lord and Saviour! :) but wateva bout that...this is a music video! LOL! I love this song! It rox!

browser1003 (1 year ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply If u listen to the text, understand it and if u're having a look on the movie, u'll maybe also understand, that song is so cool, at least for me ^.^
All in all, I guess the text is the most important in this, the melody is good too, singer sings nicely.. My rating is 5/5, simply :D
ftw, leave the God, Budha, stars, every-in-believed characters/things.. or make a new topic for that, cause this should be a place for comment to the clip :B
